Impact the life of all Southwestern students today

Funds raised from our Sponsorships go directly to Southwestern Elementary to pay for programs that assist students of all economic backgrounds and complement and reinforce what the students are learning in class. For example, last year we used funds to remodel the teacher’s workroom allowing for less time spent using outdated equipment to prep lesson materials and more time in the classroom with engaging materials. We recently purchased two portable basketball hoops for student use during recess and gym. Funds are also used to stock the Teacher Store which provides free monthly school supplies to all Southwestern teachers. Our PTA pays for educational, cultural, physical and social programs that are not currently paid for by Suffolk Public Schools district or the State of Virginia.
